The European Union Joint Research Center in Ispra (Italy), placed close to the border to Switzerland, is a very common destination for project workers. Take some time and go down to Lago Magiore. The Lago Maggiore region boasts with places to visit. Whether you do business with the EU’s Joint Research Center in Ispra, host project meetings in Arona, or meet researchers in Milano, the region will offer much enjoyment around the meetings.
If you take a rental car you can make a weekend trip to the switzerland part of the lake. There you can find the dam that was used in the opening scene of “Goldeneye”. If you feel brave enough you can do the James Bond Bungy Jump.
If you continue from there uphill you will find a very idyllic locations.
A very tranquil alternative to the lakeside hotels is the Casa Don Guanella in Barza d’Ispra
